A Blue Day!

No today it's not raining outside. In fact the temperature is over a 100.
It's not a cloudy day. But for me it is a blue day.

Do you have those days? Not for any particular reason. Maybe lots of small reasons.

I started blogging back in March. I had thought about doing it for a few months before that.

It had been many really long months where I was at a low point. Maybe the lowest point of my life. I felt like I was in a hole and I couldn't find my way out.

I looked at life as something I was enduring. Something that seemed to always happen to me. I didn't look at the good things in my life enough. I was focusing on the things that were not going well the trials, the burdens of life.

Don't get me wrong I have many many good things about my life. I always have. I am actually quite lucky and I have a good life.

You see the problem was that I wasn't giving as much attention, as much notice to all the good things. All the many things I have to be grateful for. I was focusing on what wasn't right instead of what was right.

I have learned a lot over the past year or so. I have grown. I guess that's what this life is about. Learning, growing, stretching, trying, failing and trying again.

I am not where I want to be. Will I ever be? Not here, not in this life. But I keep trying and I will succeed and I will fail.

This blog is a stange thing for me. It is out of my comfort zone. Yet it has come to mean a lot to me in a strange way... that's hard to understand.

I was searching on the internet one day for a recipe, just browsing and I came across a blog. I didn't even know what a blog was. It was called Pioneer Woman. The blog is in my list of family/friends and places.

This lady was from the city and now living on a ranch. It fascinated me. I read her stories, I read her recipes and the thought came to me that this lady was making the most of her life. She was taking whatever circumstance she was in and she was making the most of it.

I knew I needed a new perspective. I needed to shift my life from poor me, to lucky me. That is now my journey, my goal.

Lucky Jeannie Warner!I am lucky. I am grateful. I am blessed. I am trying to live, to really live. I am trying new things. I am trying to look at the glass half full.

Do I always succeed. No! Today remember is a blue day. Probably PMS, being too busy or the stress of school starting and needing money for school clothes and registration and on and on. (The money stress never seems to be out of my life.)

This blog I look at often. I don't always post but I look for a few moments and I see the photo's the memories the joys that are my life. I see my trip to New York. The nice surprises my husband does for me. I see evidence that I have a life that is full of many blessings.

I am even taking or should I say allowing others to take photos of me. For years because of weight I would always take the picture. I was not in the picture. WHY? I feel sad about that because where is the evidence that I was there at the event? On the vacation?

I really never know who reads this blog and it doesn't matter. This is for me, to remind me I am blessed. A lot of you tell me you read it and you don't have a blog. Blogging is probably not for every one. It's strange to put your life out there. But for me it has been like therapy. I plan to print the blog each year. (Did you know you can do that? Pictures and all). I don't write a journal and I long ago gave up scrapbooking. (I am too far behind and too busy for now). This will be my journal my scrapbook.

I invite you to start a blog and if you do share it with me. I will add you as a friend.

Thanks for listening. My blue day is turning around.

Just for fun here are some photo's of me that were taken this week.

Wow Jeannie you are getting brave and you are living. (Does this sound like I am talking to myself?) I do that probably too much. But hey sometimes it helps :0)

Girls Camp 2008

Sammy went to girls camp this last week.
I am a Young Womens leader and I went up on the 24th with some other leaders to spend some time with the girls.
Sammy was the only 4th year girl going on the hike. When I got to Camp Shallom they were just getting ready to go on the hike clear to the top of the mountain. They asked if I wanted to go with Sammy. At first I look up at the top of the mountain and said inside
NO Way can you make it.
But I wanted to go with Sammy and make a memory. So I gave it a try.

I made it to the top! I stopped several times to rest but I did it.

That is really out of my "out of shape" comfort zone to climb a mountain.

Sammy you were so patient and helpful.

You were so proud that I went on the hike and that I made it to the top of the mountain.
I worried I wouldn't make it but you kept cheering me on.
I am so glad I went on the hike with you Sammy.
It was a great memory.

This is at the top looking down.

There is still snow on the top of the mountain.

Look at the pretty purple flowers on the left.

BEAUTIFUL!

Sammy I loved spending time with you.

This was our group that made it to the top of lone pine mountain.

Today I have a 21 year old!

Happy Birthday Today Aaron.
21 on the 21st.
This is at the visitors center by the Mexico City Temple. A 2 hour drive.
Saturday Aaron and his companion took some investigators.
This is Aaron's Zone

This is a family Aaron is teaching. I love the look of their house with all the colors.

I received an email from him today and here is a part of what Aaron wrote about his birthday.

Well thinking of my birthday I have pondered what I might want. Then I shortly realized I have everything I need and want. I could ask for an i pod a new car, new shoes, clothes. etc.... But the best b-day present that any one could ever have. Is what I have got already!!! I have a mom and dad that will be in the parents hall of fame one day. 2 sisters that I don't know what I would do without. We have the gospel. We are all healthy for the most part. We have a house, food on the table. God with us. And angels to bear us up.

Thank you, I thank each one of you for being who you are and helping me to be so happy. Gifts break, gold grows old, thiefs can steal our treasure. But your gift to me can never be stolen and can never break. It lasts forever.

We would be a lot better if we would focus on the gifts and the treasures that really matter. Thanks for giving me one of those gifts.

Fiesta Wiffleball CHAMPS!!!!!!

Neil with Phil, Jimmy and Bones Degraffenried.
"The Brew Crew"
(Thanks for the photo's Degraffenried's I borrowed them off your blog)
Wiffleball is something Neil has played and loved since his
mission in the early 80's where he learned to play.

Neil "Greg Gone" played in a Wiffleball Tournament today in Spanish Fork.

Their team The Brew Crew won the Tournament
Way to GO!!!
They won a t-shit and a sweatshirt!

Neil had a well deserved good time.
I made Neil take a photo as soon as he got home.

His shirt is on backwards so I could get his face and the shirts logo all in one shot.
Neil's a good sport about my blogging.

Kinsey and Tova

Tova is McKinsey's dog. He is a Brussells Griffin.

He loves no one like he does Kinsey.
He see's her and he goes crazy and wants to jump on her and give her kisses.

Lot's of kisses!

Ahh! sweet. Tova thank you for loving McKinsey.
You have been so good for her.

The start of Sammys Birthday Week!
Sammy started her Birthday week off at her favorite place. PF Changs

I took Sammy and her friends Jenny on the left and Maddie on the right
to PF Changs for Sammy's favorite meal.
Lettuce wraps, Honey chicken, Mongolian beef and rice.

What cute smiles. They are very full. We then dropped Jenny and Maddie off

"because they were busy"

Sammy was bummed she wanted to hang out with friends. It was a rare weekend night off work. She kept texting everyone and everyone kept saying they couldn't hang out.

Well there was a reason.

SURPRISE!!!

Sammy's friends threw her a surpise Birthday Party!

Look at that cake Jenny's creativeness comes thru again.

Happy 15th Birthday SAmMy ChArMeR!

Look at that fancy birthday hat.
Jenny made that she is so creative.

Make a Wish!

When it got dark they built a fire and made smores and lit some fireworks.

Sammy I hope you have a great 15thBirthday.
Sammy went to Cheer camp on Monday and won't be back until
Thursday so she will have a shorter birthday week.
I think it started off with a bang!

4th of July

Happy 4th of July

Hope you all had a great 4th of July. We went out to a yummy breakfast at Callie's Restraunt. Then went and watched the hot air balloons in Provo.

We were a little late for them but it was still fun.

Kinsey worked during the day and we went and visited her at work. Then she then went down to Provo and walked around the booths and watched fire works.

Sammy went with a friend to Stadium of Fire.

Neil and I went to a Bee's game. The fireworks after were amazing.

Not the usual BBQ and family fun. We miss those!
But we made the most of the day and enjoyed some fun activities.
