Reptile Show 2008

Neil and Kinsey went to the Reptile Show in Salt Lake on Saturday.
They had a great father-daughter date.

I was so surprised when they didn't come home with any lizards.
They were disappointed there weren't more lizards.

They had lunch at Kinsey's favorite Vegan restaurant Vertical Diner.

Chasing Lizards

My boys love lizards. We have had hundreds of lizards over the years.
Their favorite thing to do is chase or hunt lizards. They have hunted in the desserts of Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and California.

They go on a  trip each year. They head into the 110 or more degree weather of the dessert. They walk around all day looking for lizards. Up hills in rocks. It is such a funny hobby.

But they love it! They have had many memories over the years and had such a good time.
I say their crazy but I love that they spend time together and that they are making memories.

Neil has a friend Russ who started a blog on chasing Lizards. Check it out. here  It's great fun. Now they will be able to re-live their lizard chasing memories.
I was looking through some video's today and came across the video's below.
All I can say is I am glad they are all alive!

Making Art out of Nature

McKinsey went on a hike with her Unified class at Orem High School.
Their assignment was to make art out of nature.
So creative!
The leaves are starting to change.
I love Fall. I love Utah and all the seasons it brings.
There is always something renewing about a change of season.
It feels like a fresh start a new beginning.

So BEAUTIFUL!
McKinsey you sure are a good photographer.
You have an amazing eye.

These photos were taken with Kinseys point and shoot cheap-o digital camera.
No special lenses. The photos have not been altered.

Mission Travel plans!

Today in the mail came Aaron's travel plans.
The letter started Dear parents we are happy to inform you
of your missionaries travel plans to return home.
RETURN HOME!!!
I cannot express the joy I feel.
My son is coming home. YeSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
Elder Aaron Keith Warner will return home on November 19th.
He leaves Mexico City at 7:45 and he has a layover in Atlanta.
He will arrive in Utah at 4:05 pm
I have tried not to think about him coming home too much.
(ok I admit I have some or maybe a lot)
Now that I know the flight number and airline and date and time it may
be a little harder not to count down the days and hours and minutes.
I do have a lot to do. Aaron hasn't lived in the house were in now.
His room has been a catch all (junk room) so I will need to find his bed.
It's in the room somewhere I think.
I am just so excited and wanted to share my great news.

23rd Wedding Anniversary

Have I really been married 23 years? Everyone says it but it is true. Time goes by so fast.
Our Anniversary was on August 30th. I am a little late in posting this.
Happy Anniversary Neil.
Thank you Neil for 23 great years. I love being married and having a best friend.
One who is there during the good times and who is especially there when things are a challenge. We have been through many wonderful times and some times where we needed one another and it seemed that all we had was one another to rely on.
Neil you have always been there for me and I am so grateful for your love and support.
I am proud of you. You are an amazing husband and the father I always wished for my children. I can't wait to celebrate even more anniversaries.
I sure had short hair. I am not sure why I don't have any of these pictures in color.
I think that it was because we were doing black and white on our invitations.
We were on a strict budget since I paid for my own wedding.
Not too many pictures or extras.
I love you Neil. Look at my big goofy smile. It was like that in all the photos.
I always called you my diamond in the rough. We were friends for many years
before we were married. I always felt a closeness to you. I think we connected
from the first moment I met you at Pizza Hut when I was 16 years old. It has been
a wonderful connection with one another. You are definatley my diamond... always
shining bright and loving me like no one else every could.
I thank you and I am so excited to share eternity with you.

You have always made our Anniversaries special. You have planned them every year. You have surprised me with trips and get aways. Some of my favorites are the first time we stayed at Anniversary Inn. It was brand new and so exciting to stay in such a fun, romantic place. Our trip up the coast of California. We stopped along the way wherever we wanted to stay. We drove and saw so many beautiful things. We talked and talked and were together for a solid week just enjoying one anothers company. You have sent me on treasure hunts. You did the 12 years of our anniversary where you did something for me for 12 days. You made me Anniversary movies and given me special gifts. You truly have shown me that you love me enough to show me each year that being married to me is something that brings you happiness.

CABIN WEEKEND

Lucky us we got to spend the weekend at my brothers cabin.
We LOVE going to the cabin. We haven't been in a long time.
It was so fun to go.
We love to stay in our sweats with no makeup and watch movies
and play games and read and put together puzzles.
It is so nice to get away from the text messaging and phone calls,
computers and work and just spend time together.
We love to have yummy food.
We always have french toast and buttermilk syrup and bacon Yummy!!
And other good food and of course tons of junk food.
Kinsey brought her friend Shalise.

Neil was the only guy. He was a good sport.
He took two naps on Sunday He played games with us and made us all laugh.

The girls wanted to try and stay up all night.
They ate a ton of sugar and those stupid monster drinks.
They played karaoke and listened to music and put puzzles together.
We played our favorite game Scategories.

We tried to teach Shalise Rook. That didn't last too long.
We played a fun game of spoons.
It was Sammy and Neil last in the game.
And guess who won? Neil likes to gloat :0)
Kinsey took some very cool pictures. She loves taking photos.
On the way home Sammy and Maddie were worn out.
It was a great weekend.
Elwin and Peggy thanks for letting us use the cabin.
We all loved the break and we always have such a good time together as a family at the cabin.

Designated Driver

It is fun to be the designated driver sometimes.
I took Sammy and her friend Maddie to Salt Lake
and we went to a movie and to dinner at the Mayan.

The girls love photo opps and they really got into having their pictures taken.

I will be sad when they turn 16 and no longer need a driver.
I think I may not be included in their adventures too often.
